If you happened to be at Channel 101 on Saturday, you may recognize this magazine. I made it for Farley & Paul for their video, Moment of Clarity (absolutely NSFW as it’s mostly jerking off).
When I agreed to do it, the only information I had was the magazine title. Because the name is pretty awful in itself, I decided to uh… class it up… by referencing Georgia O’Keefe. Then my friends provided some ridiculous article titles for the cover to contrast the photo. This is the final product. I apologize for this on your dashboard.
(PS. how do I get Aaron Paul to autograph my copy?)

Photo of the Day: Michelle Obama’s Prom Portrait
Who doesn’t love an election year feud? Ronald Reagan vs. Gerald Ford. Ted Kennedy vs. Jimmy Carter. Sarah Palin vs. Katie Couric. Michelle Obama vs. Ellen DeGeneres. Wait, what?
It seems that the daytime TV host, still smarting from losing a pushup contest against the First Lady in February, decided to retaliate by showing off a photo of young Michelle Robinson dressed for prom. DeGeneres showed the photo as they taped a segment for Monday’s show. She did also post her own prom photo, which is perhaps worse (is that a prom dress or something she stole from Marsha Brady’s closet?). Still, that’s quite a racy dress for the future FLOTUS — especially the side slit. In fact, Obama said she didn’t think she’d let her own daughters wear the dress.

The Russian Empire in Color: Photography from 1909 - 1912
We are so used to black and white photography from the early 1900s, that it almost comes as a shock when you see these beautiful pictures by photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944). “He took three black and white images in fairly quick succession, using red, green and blue filters, allowing them to later be recombined and projected with filtered lanterns to show near true color images. Above a few of the hundred images made available by the Library of Congress, which purchased the original glass plates back in 1948.”
Have a look at the beautiful spread over at Ajanaku!

What China’s Talking About Today: Mother Tries to Give Away Baby Online
A Guangzhou woman contemplating divorce attempted to give away her baby on second-hand-goods website, according to a Sina News article.
The mother, age 30, said that she was not ready to raise a child alone. She reportedly listed her 2-month-old baby boy as a “99 percent new” item, 100 percent free, and attached the above picture of her child on the site. She still hasn’t found a taker.

THE NUDE HOUSE OF WACKY PEOPLE - A forgotten SNL sketch that’s rarely been re-aired since it’s original broadcast in 1989. Thank you, Jen Kirkman for reminding me that this was a thing.
It was NEVER re-aired. Only to be seen once. Also was scrubbed from the episode available on Netflix and not part of any SNL DVD’s due to the fact that it got complaints about how “racist” it was. Maybe because I saw this for the first time when I was 15 but I’ll love it more than anything forever and if nobody likes it, you can go fight the bear.
